God Centered Worship
People
are starving for the greatness of God, but they do not realize this.
The popular prescription today fails to make us God-centered in our
worship and God-fearing in our hearts. We affirm that what a man thinks
about God is the most important thing about him. God-centered worship
is essential in the life of the church.
Supreme Devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ
Though
our reigning King is not visible in this realm, His reign is real. On
the other hand, our devotion to Him is visible: "and though you have
not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but
believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of
glory" (1 Peter 1:8). We affirm that true believers will love Christ: "If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed" (1 Corinthians 16:22).
Expository Preaching
The
apostle Paul writes to Titus exhorting him to "speak the things which
are fitting for sound doctrine" (Titus 2:1). We are committed to a
verse by verse study of God's Word. Preaching God's Word is the highest
priority of the church. The apostle solemnly charged Timothy to "preach
the word" (2 Timothy 4:2). Nothing can replace the preaching and
hearing of the Word of God.
A loving Fellowship of Believers
How
can we accurately define a loving church? The apostle Paul does so in
(Romans 15:14), "And concerning you , my brethren, I myself also am
convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all
knowledge and able also to admonish one another." We are far from
perfect, but a large percentage of our members are full of good deeds,
filled with Biblical knowledge, and able to counsel, exhort, and
correct one another.
